Fat Loser On A Boondoggle
There he is with his hand out. Probably saying to a lobbyist "whatcha got for me today".Here's an excerpt from Congressman Silvestre Reyes's own website. "Reyes leads opposition to the U.S.-Mexico Border Fence Bill in the House".
Today though, I was driving along the Border Highway (so named for it's proximity to the Mexican Border) and I noticed not one, but three fences in one pretty long stretch of border. All on the U.S. side, of course. And so we're all on the same page here, let me tell you that El Paso is a pretty big city in geographical size. Approximately 250 square miles and to my knowledge there is no part between it an Mexico where there is not at least one fence.
So my problem with Mr. Reyes is that if he is so all fired up about not building a fence between the United States and Mexico, then how come we never hear him talking about tearing down the existing fences right here in his own hometown and congressional district? What better way to drive his point home. He should be pounding the table, setting the example, and showing leadership. Well, he's not doing any of that and I know why after receiving a few of his "form letter", "cookie cutter" responses to other issues I wasted my time writing to him about. The answer is simple, Mr. Reyes is a fat loser on a boondoggle and he's full of shit. He'll say anything to get re-elected. Not building a border fence is the kind of crap people around here want to hear. But what they don't want to hear is any talk about tearing down any existing fences in Mr. Reyes's congressional district. That kind of talk would put his fat ass on the unemployment line faster than you can say "Plato del Dia".
I agree with Mr. Reyes that a border fence is not the answer to illegal immigration. The problem is that after making that statement he gets really stupid. What he should be saying is that a border fence is not the answer to illegal immigration but it's part of the answer. Along with a hundred other outstanding ideas for securing our border with Mexico. But that kind of talk won't keep him in office. So I guess we're stuck with Mr. Reyes until enough people around here wake up and decide it's time to throw the bum out. Don't hold your breath.
